Stone Key is a self-service storage company that provides a variety of storage unit sizes and types for personal, business, and recreational storage use. If you’re looking to clear up some much-needed space at home or find yourself with limited space to hold essential business items, Stone Key is your perfect partner. We offer clean, secure storage solutions at competitive prices.
If the storage size you need is available at one of our facilities and you can provide a valid I.D. and payment method, you can rent it. If you have questions regarding which size is right for you, please review our storage unit size guide to calculate the storage space you need. If you have any additional questions regarding unit sizes, storage types, or prices, please don’t hesitate to contact one of our storage consultants at any one of our facilities (preferably one close to you). Alternatively, you can drop by one of our local storage facilities and ask for a tour!
The unit you rent is secured with your lock and your key – only you can decide who has access to your unit and who doesn’t. It’s our policy never to give anyone who isn’t on your rental agreement access. We feel this is a vital step to ensure the security of your items. However, you are free to divulge your unit number, key, and gate-code access to anyone of your choosing. We ask you to make sure that you’re comfortable with them accessing your unit. You can also fill out an Authorized User Privileges form, which permits us to give access to anyone included on your list. If you’d like to remove anyone included on this list, you must do so in writing.
All our facilities offer different storage sizes and types. Our standard unit types include:
Climate Controlled Units: This type of storage is perfect for items sensitive to fluctuating temperatures. The temperature in these units never goes lower than 65 degrees or higher than 85 degrees Fahrenheit (18-24 degrees C). While slightly more expensive than using indoor or outdoor units, the little bit extra that you spend on storage could save you a lot more in damage down the road. Everyday items susceptible to hot and cold weather include wooden furniture, books and comics, electronics, antiques, vintage drum kits and other older, valuable instruments, artwork, wine, and other items. If you’re unsure about the type of storage you need, call one of our facilities. Our storage consultants are on stand-by to help you select the correct storage option.
Indoor Storage Units: Indoor units offer storage space with less exposure to the elements. However, this storage type is not to be confused with units that offer climate control. Indoor storage protects from extreme temperatures while falling shy of the stability provided by climate control.
Drive-Up Storage Units: Drive-up storage is perfect for those looking for quick, easy access to their items. Drive straight up to your unit, park, unload, and take off (or hang out). Our roll-up doors make accessing your unit a breeze and save space, unlike their swinging-door counterparts. While this is often the most convenient method of storage, it offers slightly less protection from the elements than indoor and climate-controlled storage. However, drive-up is easily the most popular form of storage, mostly for its quick access and excellent protection from water, pests, dirt, and other unwanted nuisances. It may not have the level of temperature control offered by some other storage types, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less secure, clean, or reliable.
Rent your unit for as long (or short) a period as you need! We offer month-to-month leases and charge in one-month increments. Our goal is to make your storage experience as simple and easy as possible.
You can get a quote for a storage unit online or over the phone. To reserve a storage unit please call us. Please note: the only way to complete the rental agreement is in person at one of our facilities. This is for your protection as well as the protection of others.
Insurance for your items is a requirement for much of Stone Key facilities. Renting a storage unit is like renting an apartment. The same way your landlord doesn’t insure your personal belongings, Stone Key doesn’t protect your items either. However, we do offer an excellent Property Protection programme that satisfies the lease requirement, for just £9 a month! Please note: if you have homeowner’s or renter’s insurance, your property may be covered, but you should double-check with your agent.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cheques, cash and money orders. We also accept payments online once you are a tenant. We do receive credit card payments over the phone if you have already submitted a written authorisation form. If you’d like to send payments over the phone, call all our office, and we’ll email you the form. Automatic billing is available with a form on file as well.
